HEMP ESSENTIAL
Powerful plant oil with a perfect natural composition – for deep nourishment, antioxidant protection, and strengthening the skin barrier.
Hemp oil is cold-pressed from hemp seeds and has been used for thousands of years in China – as food and medicine. The oil is an excellent source of essential omega‑3 and omega‑6 fatty acids. Hemp oil is the only plant‑based edible oil that contains over 80% of these fatty acids, with linoleic acid (omega‑6) and alpha‑linolenic acid (omega‑3) in an optimal nutritional ratio.
In addition, hemp oil is rich in antioxidants, mainly polyphenols (such as flavonoids) and tocopherols (vitamin E). Their concentration is particularly high compared to other plant oils, giving it strong antioxidant activity – helping to protect tissues from free‑radical damage. Hemp oil contains only trace amounts of cannabinoids such as THC and CBD.
Cold‑pressed plant oils retain their nutritional advantage: they are rich in antioxidants, do not require preservatives or synthetic antioxidants, and do not contain solvents. The cold‑pressing process is energy‑efficient and environmentally friendly.
Essential fatty acids for the skin are fatty acids that the body cannot produce itself and must be supplied externally.
The fatty acids known as essential are linoleic acid (omega‑6) and alpha‑linolenic acid (omega‑3).
The three omega‑3 fatty acids important to human physiology are ALA (plant-based), EPA, and DHA (from fish oils).
The skin has enzymes that enable the utilization of all three in metabolic processes important for maintaining proper tissue function.
Linoleic acid (omega‑6) participates in the synthesis of ceramides – essential lipids that make up about 40%–50% of the fats in the skin’s stratum corneum.
Ceramides are critically important to the skin barrier function, reducing moisture loss and contributing to hydration maintenance.
Anti‑aging
Omega‑3 and ‑6 fatty acids help firm the skin by inhibiting the activity of MMP enzymes – enzymes that break down dermal components (collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid), which are responsible for maintaining the skin’s three‑dimensional structure
Additionally, omega‑3 fatty acids reduce the synthesis of compounds that promote irritation and aging processes in the tissue – thereby providing an anti‑aging effect as well.
